Environmental surveys: Phase two

Experienced and professional contracting services and a seamless pre-development service all under one roof.

If a phase one site report identifies the need for further intrusive investigations, our sister companies within the Wheal Jane Group are on hand to take the next steps.

In cases where contamination is suspected Wheal Jane Laboratory can provide analytical services for soils, water and other substances. We also carry out water sampling and analysis as well as more specialised tests here at Wheal Jane Consultancy, such as PBET analysis for heavy metals, particularly arsenic and lead, and sulphate testing.

Designed to measure the ‘bio availability’ of the target metal on site, these tests evaluate any potential risks to human health associated with these metals. All laboratory testing at Wheal Jane is completed to British Standards, such as BS 10175:2001 (contaminated soil) and BS 1377: part 3:1990 (sulphate resistance).

If we identify a potential risk from ground stability, Wheal Jane Group company Carnon Contracting can provide multiple methods of investigation.

In every instance we provide a report summarising the results and findings of the investigation.  If we find any form of risk, our report will include recommendations for any remediation necessary before development of the site takes place, including alternative methods wherever possible.

To complete the process, the Wheal Jane Group can arrange completion of the remediation works themselves (phase three) as well as the final inspection, sign off and issue of a Certificate of Completion (phase four), normally submitted to the Planning Authority to complete the pre-development process.

This comprehensive approach, combined with our experience, expertise and specialist knowledge of the mining and geology of the South West, makes Wheal Jane Group the first choice for managing and dealing with risks to land and property.
