Some significant changes have been made to the planning system as part of the Coalition Government’s ‘Red Tape Challenge’. One of the outcomes of this is that Local Planning Authorities can determine how much information they require to be submitted with a Planning Application. Cornwall Council is one of very few Councils in the Country to take advantage of this opportunity to reduce the burden on developers, by deeming that for low sensitivity developments where contamination is not known or suspected they do not require a Phase 1 Desk Study. Instead, all they require is a Non-Interpretative Report together with a completed questionnaire.
To help our clients who are unsure of how much information they may need for their development, Wheal Jane Consultancy has provided a quick and easy tool that determines the level of assessment required. The tool can be found under the Contact Us Tab, or at http://wheal-jane-consultancy.co.uk/quick-enquiry/.
